2017

The first in a new series of annual releases, The Macallan Classic Cut – 2017 Release has been created to reveal a unique character and timeless spirit. Matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned American and European oak casks from Jerez, Spain and then bottled to perfectly unlock its unique flavour profile, this limited release offers a special and memorable take on The Macallan. With its combination of flavours of caramel, orange zest and nutmeg spice, and a satisfyingly long finish, the result is an indulgent single malt whisky with a sweet and spicy character.

2018

The second edition in the limited annual series, The Macallan Classic Cut – 2018 Edition has an ABV of 51.2% chosen by the Whisky Maker Ian Morrison as the optimum strength to reveal a dominant sweetness and the well balanced flavours delivered by the exceptional Sherry Oak Casks. After allowing to breathe for 10-15 minutes, heightened flavours of citrus, sweet vanilla and spice come to the forefront, combined with a satisfyingly long dry oak finish. Classic Cut 2018 is a truly indulgent single malt whisky.

2019

The third edition in the limited annual series, The Macallan Classic Cut – 2019 Edition has an ideal ABV of 52.9% to bring forth the full character of the single malt. This has been chosen by the Whisky Maker Polly Logan as the optimum strength to reveal a dominant sweetness and the well balanced flavours of this whisky. To truly appreciate the complex flavour dimensions, pour and allow it to breathe for 10-15 minutes for an intensified experience. After this time, heightened flavours of orange, sweet ginger and vanilla come to the forefront, combined with a satisfyingly long finish. Classic Cut 2019 is a truly indulgent single malt whisky.

2020

For the first time in the series, which is designed to offer a different flavour experience year on year, The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team had the freedom the explore The Macallan’s different cask types to create the peerless single malt. The Macallan Whisky Maker, Polly Logan used her skill and experience to craft the expression using a combination of sherry seasoned European oak casks and ex-bourbon American oak casks to create a single malt with a unique flavour and character.

2021

A single malt matured in an exquisite union of oak casks, this single malt was carefully crafted by the Whisky Mastery Team to showcase the role of ex-bourbon American oak casks in our portfolio. The expression perfectly combines sweet lightness brought by these casks with depth and complexity from The Macallan’s renowned sherry seasoned American oak casks, to uncover a new, uniquely heightened flavour experience.

2022

Matured in a unique combination of casks with two distinctive wood types, this special single malt exudes flavours of both European and American oak, married together to create a unique tasting experience.
With a distinct grapefruit flavour, this whisky emphasises a wide range and complexity of flavours. The two wood types complement and balance together beautifully and offer an experiential journey through flavour, aroma, colour and texture.

2023

This exceptional single malt has matured in a union of ex-Bourbon American oak and sherry seasoned European oak casks.

Immerse yourself in a world of flavours, where the essence of fresh pear and almond biscotti takes centre stage. Through a mesmerising catwalk experience, vibrant fabrics and colour choices evoke the freshness of the unique pear tasting note, whilst the flowing texture of a golden gown represents the almond biscotti flavour profile that is revealed with ‘one cut’ of water.
