The Macallan 18 year old Speyside single malt distilled in 1986 and laid down at The Macallan distillery, was exclusively matured for more than 18 years in sherry wood casks from Jerez, Spain, before being bottled for the UK market in 2004.
This 1986 release is the first of the new series of packaging in a splendid dark blue box instead of the previously used tube. It is a very special bottle as it was bought at the distillery and the bottle has been signed by non-other than Bob Dalgarno himself: The Macallan, Master Whisky Maker.
The inscription reads: ‘To Gordon Duncan, ‘ENJOY’ Bob Dalgarno, Whisky Maker, 28/02/05′.
The iconic 18 year old, and earlier, offerings from The Macallan (1986) always continue to see a high demand and consistent rise in popularity, and this one is no exception being very collectable indeed with the signature of Bob Dalgarno.
