This particular bottle of Macallan 18 was distilled in 1968 and bottled in 1987. It is in excellent condition for its age. The current owner confirmed that this very rare bottling was gifted to a close friend’s father who worked with the Royal Ordnance board as a director for British Aerospace (formerly Hawker Siddeley) at their Hatfield HQ in their international markets for a period of over 30 years from when the company was the de Havilland Aircraft Company.
The back label has the wording ‘With compliments of Chairman, Chief Executive and Board of Royal Ordanance. Making this quite a unique and special bottle of this wonderful whisky.
There is a slight indentation on the top front of the box which can be seen in the photo and the neck label is partially unstuck. Fill level is excellent. Apart from light foxing this bottle and box are in superb condition for its age. It is being sold on behalf of a private client.
