Description
Glenlivet have a very fine series of single cask releases exclusive for the Nordics. having previously taken a look at the Glenlivet Pittandlich and the Glenlivet Coupar Angus, and been very happy with what I found. Now I’m looking at the Glenlivet Creag An Innean.
This is a 14 year old whisky, fully matured in an Oloroso sherry butt (cask # 58013). The total outturn was 618 bottles when it was bottled in February 2017.
Nose: Cool, crisp and curious. Light floral notes – not quite perfume like, but close. A whiff of a bouquet. Floral honey. Ripe orchard fruits, on the tree, covered in dew on a fresh summer morning.
Taste: Very rich and full-bodied. Distinct sherry notes here. Ripe grapes, mixed with raisins and dried peach. White pepper, nuts and sweet, floral honey.
Finish: Long and lingering finish. Notes of light and semi-dry sherry, mixed with camphor, malt drops and floral perfume. Honey sweetness still.
