Discontinued distillery bottling of Springbank CV Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the 1990’s, (1997 we think).
The malt is dried for 6 hours over a peat fire. Then a further 24 hours over hot air.Distilled two and a half times.
By far the peatiest of Springbank’s whiskies, first distilled in 1973. The malt is dried for 48 hours over a peat fire to give it its big smoky character. Double distilled.
The malt is hot air-dry only, no peat at all is used. Triple distilled.
Springbank Distillery History.
Founded in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still. The Springbank Distillery is the oldest independent family owned distillery in Scotland. It was Archibald’s sons, John and William who took out a licence and started distilling legally as J & W Mitchell. The Springbank Distillery is now in the hands of his great great grand son, Hedley G. Wright.
This bottle is from a private collection and has some marks on it which can be seen in the photos. There is no box with this bottle.

Palate: Citrus fruits, more pineapple and banana smoothie, baking spices on gingerbread men and peat smoke.
Finish: Medium with citrus, saltwater, and a bit more peat.
