Description
Released for the Springbank Society, this 9 year old whisky from the distillery in Campbeltown was matured in fresh Sauternes casks, helping to impart a punchy sweetness to the typically rather savoury single malt. Distilled November 2007, bottled May 2017.
Bottled at 57.1% abv.
Natural colour and non chill filtered
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Tawny
Nose: Raspberry and sauternes with just a whiff of smoke, creamy vanilla and milk chocolate with hints of cinnamon.
Palate: Sweet and creamy with pepper before giving way to peat smoke and rich spiced oak.
Finish: Minerally and dry, moving towards dried herbs and leather
