Fettercairn distillery is snugly tucked away at the feet of the Grampian mountains on the East coast of Scotland.
Old Fettercairn malt whisky has been distilled there in the age old traditional manner since 1824 making Fettercairn one of Scotland’s oldest whisky distilleries
Bottled at 40% abv.
Nose: Some smoke on the nose, quite heathery actually. There’s a lot of malty grain notes too. Porridge and caramel sweetness.
Palate: A creamy, milky body with more porridge and treacle. The peat is there in the background too.
Finish: A good long finish with the peat slowly taking precedence over the malt and toffee.
