Description
Batch No.4 from Laphroaig Original Cask Strength 10 Years old whisky, matured in seasoned oak barrels. Bottled in January 2012.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Gold
Nose: Mineral peat, with grasses and wonderful earthy marshland. Malt and fruity sweetness cut in and out of the smoke. Very complex nose.
Palate: Roasted peat and charred wood. Spiced oak and dark, rich salted caramel. Dry flavors of grain allow traces of salinity to peek in towards the end. Very creamy, oily, wooden mouthfeel.
Finish: Very oily, but peat smoke come back with subtle sharpness. Dark walnut and forest fire.
