KILCHOMAN DISTILLERY 12 yo Feis Ile 2020 Release 54.2% abv 70cl

Established in 2005, Kilchoman is true Islay’s rich farm distilling heritage, using local peat cut in the traditional way, slowly distilling by hand, maturing in traditional dunnage warehouses and bottling on site.

Due to the cancellation of Feis Ile 2020, this year’s release is an online exclusive with just 2630 bottles available worldwide. this release is matured in ex-bourbon barrels filled in 2007 and 2008 for a minimum of 12 years.

Bottled at 54.2% abv.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Amber

Nose: Lovely vanilla, hazelnuts, and citrus fruits with a hint of sweet-spice smoke, almost like a barbecue sauce. There’s a note of biscuits that wafts in nicely and gives way to earthy tobacco

Palate: Creamy, velvety lemon squares with a hint of smoke and fresh apricots. A dancing of pepper and baking spices pokes its way in.

Finish: Much more apricot with a lovely bit of honey, beetroot, and a little bit more lemon square.
