ILEACH Cask Strength 58% 70cl

A great Islay single malt from an unnamed distillery, this “mystery malt” does not follow the trend of distilleries wanting to avoid putting their name on lower quality malts. The Ileach always scores well with the critics. This edition was awarded a mind-blowingly high 97 points by Jim Murray in his 2010 Whisky Bible, and has rated very highly with many judges and critics.

Colour: Tawny

Nose: Lots of peat, with smoked meats and some citrus peel

Palate: Smoked meat with lemon peel

Finish: Cane sugar with peppers, smoked kelp, and a bit of dark chocolate
