Description

Glenturret claims the title of “Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery,” based on a rental form by Sir Patrick Murray of Ochtertyre referring to Thurot Distillery, the earliest known name for Glenturret. The distillery closed in the 1920s, a casualty of a great collapse in scotch production driven by changing mentalities and the Prohibition Act in America. 30 Years later, the distillery reopened under the guidance of James Fairlie, who served both as director and master distiller for the next 20 years.

In 2014, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the distillery during an official tour of Scotland. Known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn in Scotland, William and Kate enjoyed a dram – and also hand-filled and signed a bottle, which is now stored at the distillery in preparation for future auction.

In March 2019, The Glenturret Distillery was purchased by a joint venture led by The Lalique Group, a French luxury lifestyle company. Glenturret offers high quality whisky for the luxury-seeker in all of us.

Bottled at 40% abv.
