Description
Glenrothes first started producing whisky in 1879 and from 1963 to 1989 it more than doubled its number of stills from four to 10. The distillery and the brand are now both fully owned by Edrington, after a few years of ‘to and fro’ with Berry Bros & Rudd.
Matured in single cask #2687, this is bottle number 192 of 219.
Bottled in 2015.
Bottled at 40.8% abv.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Burnished copper
Nose: Fresh malt and melons with orchard fruit with hints of vanilla and oak.
Palate: Pear and cream. Baking spices and almond with lovely oak sweetness.
Finish: Medium long that brings in some interesting bitterness.
