Description
Pure Malt was labelled so years ago and for good reason; this is just about as good as it gets. The stunning Special Reserve Speysider was released exclusively for the French market initially and includes a trio of aroma bottles to represent the stages of fermentation, distillation and maturation.
Bottled at 40% abv.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Light. pale straw
Nose: Airy and light with canned pears and heather. Green apples and green grass open up with a touch of water to allow hints of mint and sage to sneak through.
Palate: More pear, though the apple starts to fade. There is lemon curd and crispy wafer covered in unripe banana on the coattails of which ride hints of cinnamon, heather, and almonds.
Finish: Long finish with digestif biscuits, lemon pith, spices.
