Description
Bottled by Cadenhead’s for their Authentic Collection, this whisky was distilled at Glenrothes in 1999 and bottled in 2015. It was matured in an ex-sherry butt.
Bottled at 59.7% abv.
Natural colour
Tasting Notes
Colour: Old gold
Nose: Lots of sherry with notes of chocolate, blackberry vinaigrette, polished sandalwood, and a pinch of smoke
Palate: Lots of fruit, with cherries and raisins being the forerunners. A bit of chocolate and some heavy umami tannins.
Finish: More mushrooms, dried herbs and nuts. A pinch of smoke to finish the whole thing off.
