Description
Official Notes:
The White Stag Seventh Release has been crafted by our Lochranza Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman. Stewart has chosen a small batch bottling of two ex-Oloroso Sherry Puncheons from very different stages in our Distillery’s production history.
Married together, the youth and age of these casks balance together perfectly, creating complex layers which bring out the fresh, orchard fruit character of the Arran Single Malt, naturally coloured and non-chill filtered.
With a ‘nose’ of soft red fruits and a hint of maltiness. Buttered toast with jam and a slight touch of hazelnut gives a comforting feeling of the familiar. Complex in character.
A taste of red berries, honey and sweet spices dance beautifully on the tongue. There’s toasted oak and a suggestion of dark chocolate. With a touch of water classic notes of orchard fruits come to the fore. The contrast of sweetness and fresh acidity brings the flavour of toffee apples to mind.
A wonderful whisky with a finish that is long and lingering. A wonderful balance of weighty maturity and fresh youth.
This enticing expression of Arran Single Malt will both delight and intrigue you. The true spirit of Lochranza lives long through its whisky. Allow yourself to sip and remember times spent on our beautiful island.
We would like to thank Stewart for selecting these casks for the Seventh Release and look forward to many more years of White Stag community friendship with our cherished Arran Single Malt under his watchful eye.
